Sightjacker? I barely know her!

I want to say Siren is my favorite horror video game franchise (seriously, I prefer it over Silent Hill, and I love Silent Hill), but it's occurred to me that of the measly three games in the series, I've only played two through to the end, and I barely consider one of those a scratch above mediocre. I guess the first game left such a strong impression on me that I'm willing to put up with a lot from its so-so remake. I really need to finish the second game at some point. It's a pain to get working, but it built on its predecessor in a lot of cool and inventive ways, from what little I've seen. I'm amazed more games haven't ripped off the sightjacking mechanic.

The original Siren is one of, like, three games that manage to consistently scare me on repeat playthroughs. There's nothing like thinking you've found a safe spot only for you to go into sightjack mode and see a monster running straight for you. It's a lot of fun. Siren 1 can be pretty unforgiving, though. I can't tell you how much I hate any level that involves a time limit.

Time limits are the absolute worst! I should investigate whether or not any of the Siren games got any sort of port to the ps3/ps4.

I can vouch for the digital PS4 version. Runs very smoothly, and the game has never looked better. It was also digitally released on the PS3, but that version is a little rougher around the edges, from what I've seen.
